160 years since the birth of Nikola Tesla marked

On the occasion of 160 years since the birth of one of the greatest scientists of all times – Nikola Tesla, yesterday in the chapel of the Holy King Milutin in the Central Military Club, memorial service was held, and then in the packed Ceremonial Hall, the ceremony was prepared, organized by the International Center for Research and legacy of Nikola Tesla and Odbrana Media Centre.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the visitors were welcomed by Colonel Stevica Karapandzin, director of the Odbrana Media Centre, noting that the building of the former Warriors Club has always been open for valuing the tradition and celebrating important events and personalities from the glorious Serbian history.

- Every man is called to a sort of apostleship and a kind of distinguished mission. Our mission differ not only by the talents we have received, but also by how we multiply them and return, for it was said that everyone will be required to give as much as he was given. If we have only what we give to others, and how we multiply the given talents, then Nikola Tesla gave it many times and in that he did not waste a single moment of his life. Refusing the Nobel Prize and all the honours and praises and millions of dollars, as he died, speaking in human terms, in poverty, Tesla, we can say, was extremely wealthy man, Colonel Karapandzin pointed out.

In the inspired speech, Milka Kresoja, MSc, founder and director of the International Centre for Research of Nikola Tesla’s heritage, presented the achievements and future plans of the centre, which includes construction of Tesla's tower in Belgrade, and reminded those present that a man lives as long as he is remembered by generations and Tesla will therefore, as the most powerful mind who ever lived on Earth and laid the foundations of modern civilisation by his discoveries, be eternal.

- Tesla lives with us also today, in his inventories. They are part of our life and our civilization. His knowledge was so huge that it cannot be assessed yet. "Whole life is electrical current" - Tesla wrote, "and its soul is light and cosmic love". In the booms of purity and aspiration, Tesla was able to achieve enlightenment of cosmic love. From Tesla's work, a new spiritual world of a man can derive, a man who has learned the secret of time and can penetrate up to more sophisticated levels of cosmic existence. That's why we say that the work of Nikola Tesla is immortal.

The co-founders of the International Centre, graduate eng. Spasoje Vlajic, author of the book "Nikola Tesla - the man Angel" and graduate eng. Goran Marjanovic explained Tesla’s invaluable contribution to science, as a precursor to a dozen of major inventions for which others subsequently received the Nobel Prize. Exhibits from the laboratory of Goran Marjanovic, based on Tesla’s technologies (classical Tesla’s transformer, generator of Tesla’s scalar waves, light processor...), attracted special attention of the guests.

The event is complemented by masterly performance of the choir of Abrasevic Cultural and Artistic Society (under the baton of Ivanka Stojkov) and the exhibition of first-year students of the University College of Professional Studies – Belgrade Polytechnic Academy (Department of Design). At the end of the evening the guests enjoyed the cake, in the shape of the tower, which was a gift from the organizers in gratitude for the support of the ceremony.
