Presentation of the book "The Road to Eternity - About Serbian heroes ..."

A new book by Major General Retired Milisav Sekulic, MSc, "The Road to Eternity - About Serbian heroes ..." was presented today at the Central Military Club, in organization of the Association of Descendants of Serbian Warriors from 1912 to 1920.

Retired Colonel Ljubomir Markovic, President of the Association of Descendants of Serbian Warriors 1912-1920, Momcilo Diklic, a historian, Milutin Micic, an anthropologist, and Bogdan Kuzmanovic, an actor who read excerpts from the book recommended the monograph to the audience by carefully chosen words.

- This book is the most beautiful monument to the generation of warriors who defeated the three great empires. It is a collective medal on the chests of the ancestors and the descendants, because what remains is only that what is written, Ljubomir Markovic pointed out.

Momcilo Diklic reminded those present that history remembers the authors who created important works at their later age and Milisav Sekulic, MSc, and Major General retired, is exactly one such example. He also concluded that his book "The Road to Eternity" will gain in value as time goes on.

Considering the cultural and contemporary context, Milutin Micic assessed that the monograph on Serbian heroes emerged at the right time, when the aspects of tradition are neglected, and that is why it is a bridge between the tradition and modernity.

Finally, the author said:

- In the monograph The Road to Eternity a lot was wanted, perhaps too much. I stopped as I plunged into the history of losses and walks of life of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the liberation wars from 1876 to 1916 covered with oblivion. Taking away from oblivion is a difficult job for the most capable and most motivated ones. All warriors who were written about, are settled in eternity, but they deserve, through this book, to settle in our homes, near their descendants.
