Exhibition Encounters at the Belgrade Central Military Club

In the Great Gallery of the Central Military Club tonight, the exhibition of paintings and sculptures named "Encounters" hosted by Odbrana Media Centre in cooperation with the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art from Jagodina and Art Brut - Outsider art centre.
The exhibition includes the works of 35 Serbian and Russian self-taught artists, visionaries, from the collections of the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art of Jagodina and collection of the Moscow Museum of Outsider Art, currently in Bar, Montenegro.
At the opening of the exhibition, those present were addressed by Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Krupez, who, wishing them welcome to the first exhibition in the Gallery of the Central Military Club in the new season, pointed out that the symbolic title of the exhibition is a good description of collaboration that has been recently realized by Odbrana Media Centre and the Naïve and Marginal Art from Jagodina,
- Three institutions behind this event definitely share common values, love art and wish to show the audience what is beautiful and worthy of attention, Krupez said.
Nina Krstic, Director of the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art from Jagodina, said that the institution she represents has been cooperating with Art Brut Outsider art centre from Bar for more than 15 years, with whom it realized several interesting projects.
- The concept of the exhibition "Encounters" covers continuity of development of non-conventional, non-academic art of outsiders, self-taught visionaries, in general, including the world-renowned names such as Sava Sekulic, Ilija Bosilj and other important artists whose works make up the world's cultural heritage.
The director of Art brut Outsider Art Centre, Vladimir Abakumov Bar, pointed out that he was very happy that the exhibition got the chance to be presented to the audience in a representative premises of the Central Military Club and thanked the Odbrana Media Centre because of the great support in the organization.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Advisor for Culture in the Russian Embassy in Belgrade Irina Gnetkova and representative of the Ministry of Culture Vesna Maricki Ostojic.
All those interested may see the exhibition Encounters, which was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Culture And Information, in the Great Gallery of the Central Military Club, until 21st September 2016, every day except Sundays.
