Traditional Music Festival of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Central Military Club



Tonight, in the Conference Hall of the Central Military Club, more than 200 visitors attended 24th Music Festival of blind and visually impaired artists of Serbia, organized by the Belgrade city organization of blind people.
 
Branka Brkić, Secretary of the Association of the Blind of Serbia, emphasized in her speech that this music festival was held in the year when the Association celebrated 70 years of its existence and operation, and that the goal of the event was affirmation of blind and visually impaired artists.
 
On behalf of the Belgrade city organization of the blind, the guests were welcomed by Vice President Petar Vranjković, and after his speech, those present were addressed by Dragomir Petronijević, a member of the City Council of the City of Belgrade, in charge of social policy.
 
All participants in the competition part of the programme were accompanied by the SBC National Ensemble, under the direction of Siniša Vićentijević. Apart from popular songs and folk music pearls like: "Oj golube, moj golube" (Oh, dove, my dove), "Ljubav mi srce mori" (Love breaks my heart), "Moj Dragane" (My Dragan), "Of, Jano, Jano" ... there followed instrumentals: Uranus by Peter Greene, Cadiz by Isaac Albeniz, "Zetelačko kolo" (Harvesters’ round), "Rakino kolo" (Raka’s round) ...
 
The jury, which this year consisted of: Predrag Stojković – the youngest member of the band "Legends", piano player in the band, and a professor of music, harmony and counterpoint and musical forms; Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović – Champion of the Opera of the National Theatre in Belgrade; Marko Bulat – known entertainer; Danka Stojiljković – a solo singer and a member of the ensemble "Kolo" and Nenad Popovic – music editor of Radio Belgrade had a difficult task to proclaim the best participants.
 
First place in the category "vocal instrumentalist of pop music" went to Željko Gordić, while Luka Joksimović won the second place; Mirko Djukić was proclaimed the best in category "nstrumental performer", while Dejan Milojević qualified as the second one. Mirjana Vujić was declared the runner-up of the evening in the category "best folk singer" and Stevan Radulović was the winner.
 
The winners were handed diplomas by Jelena Stojanović, Vice President of the Association of the Blind of Serbia, who also used this opportunity to especially thank all the establishments that helped the realization of the ceremony: Ministry of Defence; Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Policy; Belgrade City Hall; Central Military Club of the Serbian Armed Forces; Serbian Broadcasting Corporation; Radio Belgrade 1; Radio Belgrade 202; Studio B; Radio S; S Media Portal and Internet radio "Strength of the People".
 
The letters of gratitude for the support to 24th Music Festival of the Association of the Blind of Serbia were awarded to the Central Military Club, on behalf of which Colonel Stevica Karapandžin, Director of Odbrana Media Centre received the award; SBC National Ensemble – letter of gratitude was received by Siniša Vićentijević; as well as the jury members and concert promoters – SBC journalists: Biljana Vraneš and Zoran Stanojevic.
 
Danka Stojiljković and Marko Bulat, by their performance, provided additional musical enjoyment to everyone who followed the competition tonight.
