Promotion of the book "Religious service in the Serbian Armed Forces – impact on the Army operations" in Ruma Cultural Centre
Within the "Day of Natalia Bernikova, the Russian sister of mercy", last night, on 18th November 2016, beginning at 7 pm, a lecture on "Religion and the military" was held as well as the promotion of the book by Colonel Stevica Karapandžin, "The religious service in the Serbian Armed Forces – impact on the Army operations" in the Ruma Cultural Centre.
Colonel Karapandžin spoke about the importance of religion and religious service for the military and its role in fulfilling combat and peacekeeping operations of the army. Also, the colonel spoke about the (in)compatibility of an Orthodox soldier and his function in the war. He was given the support by Dragana Marković, Editor-in-Chief of the publishing activities of Odbrana Media Centre, who presented the book reading the selected quotations from it.
Colonel Stevica Karapandžin played an important role in the introduction and promotion of the religious service and military clergy in the Serbian Armed Forces, for which he was awarded by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej by Order of Holy King Milutin.
The lecture was attended by Ruma priests, representatives of municipal authorities, as well as many officials from the public and social life of Ruma.
