Photo exhibition on the occasion of a century Serbian military aviation

In the Small Gallery of the Central Military Club a photo exhibition marking the centenary of Serbian military aviation was opened. The exhibition, "Our wings - Aircraft of domestic arms production in the Yugoslav and Serbian Air Force from 1945 to 2012" was prepared by Dr. Bojan Dimitrijevic and Zoran Milovanovic in cooperation with the Media Center "Odbrana".

While opening the exhibition director of the Media Center's "Odbrana" Col Slavoljub Markovic congratulated the Day of all members of the aviation and stressed that there were series of activities to mark the centenary of Serbian aviation, and that the main event would be the air show at Batajnica airport scheduled for 2 September.

- Media Center "Odbrana" is involved in today's celebration of the great jubilee with this exhibition and preparation of a series of commemorative editions dedicated to the history of military aviation, which will be crowned with a large monograph on aviation and air defence, as Lt. Col. Markovic said, adding that the exhibition in the Central Military Club was uniquely dedicated to the jubilee.

The basis of the exhibition consists of photographs of aircraft Yugoslav (Serbian) production, which consists of the weaponry used by the Air Force, and that in the period after 1945 military photographers took pictures now stored in the archives of the Media Center "Odbrana".

The exhibition consists of 95 photographs that have been classified chronologically into 29 parts according to types of aircraft produced in Yugoslav factories after World War II. A particularly interesting segment of the exhibition are photographs of aircraft that were once tested in the Air Force Test Center, but never went into mass production.

Photo exhibition "Our wings" will be open until 8 September.
