Exhibition ‘Love-Faith-Hope’ opens
In the Small Gallery of the Central Military Club, today, the winter exhibition of the Fine Arts Group of the Military Academy entitled ‘Love-Faith-Hope’ has opened.
Opening the exhibition, Jelena Knežević, Head of the Gallery of the Central Military Club, said that the Fine Arts Group of the Military Academy has a rich creative and exhibition-organizing tradition in the Central Military Club, which was formed in 1947 on the initiative of the then manager, Colonel Branko Šotra, one of the founders of the Academy of Applied Arts.
- The group was founded with the aim to bring together officers, members of the Club, the soldiers and members of their families, and all those who wished to try their skills in fine arts and had certain sensibility –Knežević, the Head, pointed out.
According to her, among the members of the Fine Arts Group, there were skilled creators of the Yugoslav art who, like soldiers doing their military service, delivered a powerful contribution to strengthening the integrity of the group.
- Today, when the Fine Arts Group is at the threshold of marking the seventh decade of its existence, we wish to preserve the spirit of the founding concept, but also to look at the spirit of time in which works are created. On this journey, we will be enduring allies, as the galleries of the Central Military Club are reference sites in which art and culture are promoted – Knežević said.
Gathered admirers of fine arts were greeted by Dragan Živaljević, a member of the Fine Arts Group, and today's artistic program was completed by the performance of Luka Malenov, student of the Fifth Belgrade High School.
