Concert of the First Belgrade Singing company in the Central Military Club
In the ceremonial hall of the Central Military Club on occasion of the 15th February - Day of the Republic of Serbia, a concert of the First Belgrade Singing Company was held. The repertoire includes compositions of Josif Marinkovic, Davorin Jenko, Miodrag Govedarica, Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac Vojislav Ilic, Kornelije Stankovic and other authors. The choir was led by Svetlana Vilic performance and artistic director.
At the beginning of the guests were addressed by the Director of the Media Center "Odbrana" Lieutenant Colonel Slavoljub Markovic and choir president and head of the Orthodox Church in Belgrade Protopresbyter Petar Lukic.
"Tonight we have the honor to host on occasion of the Independence day, our oldest and most respected choir, which this year celebrates 160 years of activity," said Lt. Col. Marković, wishing them many years of magnificent performances.
- Tonight we have many reasons for joy. I am glad in my heart that we are celebrating the anniversary of the First Belgrade Singing Company celebrate under the arches of this beautiful building. I look forward to because I have an opportunity to people from the Home Army, thank you for the invaluable hospitality that we show each year at St. Basil the Great, a day celebrating the choir. I look forward to and we have arranged a concert for the great feast of our motherland, said Protopresbyter Lukic.
The program was also attended by actor Ljubivoje Tadic, who, in the pauses between musical parts, recited excerpts from the play "Tesla or taming of the angels" by Stevan Pesic.
