Memoirs of one Jovan-book promotion

The book "Memoirs of one Jovan" by Jovan Radovanovic, a retired colonel and former journalist of "Narodna armija" was presented last night at the Atrium of the Central Military Club.

The key speakers about Radovanovic’s work, who was awarded second prize in the competition of the Publicist Foundation "Dragojlo Dudic" for 2012 were Miroljub Vasic, a historian and research consultant, as well as Dr. Miodrag Ignjatovic writer, journalist, and veteran writer Ivan Gvozdenovic and Borko Matovic, publisher and editor of the "Borac" magazine spoke about the book too.

According to historian Miroljub Vasic, the book "Memoirs of one Jovan" helps us to understand the complexity of history and think about the future.

- This book is a time machine, a chronological overview of the past nine decades, teaching us about the known history, but also about local events and personalities observed by a journalist, who sought to link the past and the present and put them at the service of all which elevates human dignity, as Vasic said.

Dr. Miodrag Ignjatovic believes that Radovanovic’s work , which can not be fully classified as historical memoir, although rich in historical material justifies his publicist, research and publishing work. As he puts it, "Radovanovic was not only an observer of the epoch in which he lived, but its active participant. He saw his life as part of being the companion of history, journalism, who skillfully through the personalities and events brought closer to the reader in a warm and honest way the experience of the time. "

Journalists Borko Gvozdenovic and Ivan Matovic, emphasized the symbolic title of the book, noting that it is a memoir, not one, but of all those Jovans who in his work covered all major events in Yugoslavia - from creation to its destruction. Radovanovic's memoirs record senseless wars in Croatia and Bosnia, the NATO bombing of Serbia, and in the final part of the book he describes the events in Serbia 2012, elections and records of many people and their heirs.
