Counseling for nutrition and diabetes in the Central Military Club on occasion of the day of the Military Medical Academy



In the Central Military Club, on the occasion of 2nd March – the day of the Military Medical Academy, one-day counseling for nutrition and diabetes was organized today. The campaign was conducted by sub specialists with the Department of Endocrinology and of the Institute for Hygiene, Department of Preventive Medicine, Military Medical Academy.

This action has been advertised in the days prior to the campaign, especially in the electronic media, and the on the 26th and 27th February 10 to 14.00 patients could phone and schedule appointments.

Patients were examined at the Army Lieutenant Colonel Sasa Kikovic, endocrinologist and Major Dr. Petar Ristic and two dietitians- Tatjana Mraovic and Dr. Maria Nikacevic - with their teams. Around 40 patients per physician were scheduled.

The action was designed to examine and get an insight into a patients general condition in a very short time - in 10 minutes - especially diabetes, and other diseases that they might have, while giving them advice on diet, therapy, and to respond to frequently asked questions in order to dispel some doubt they might have regarding diet, therapy, behavior.

- For this one day campaign, in form of counseling, which lasted from 8.00 to 15.00 hours, people have shown great interest. We had three times more patients than those who were scheduled and we apologize in advance to everyone we could not examine in the Central Club. They can make an appointment in the regular term counseling for nutrition and Department of Endocrinology, Medical Academy – as Lt. Col. Sasa Kikovic, endocrinologist said.
