"Infinite Music" in the Central Military Club

In the Ceremonial Hall of the Central Military Club of the Serbian Armed Forces tonight, the concert entitled "Endless music" was performed by the Serbian-Jewish Choral Society conducted by Naomi Faran.

At the beginning of the programme, the audience was addressed by Marlena Weinberger Pavlovic, President of the Serbian-Jewish Choral Society.

"We decided to dedicate this concert to the Jewish holiday of Passover and the Catholic and Orthodox Easter, which are ahead of us. Happy holidays to you!", the organizer of the program wished, emphasizing that the whole event would not have been possible without the enthusiastic support of the Ministry of Defence, as a good friend to them, each time providing support in organizing the celebrations.

And then the music started – spiritual, traditional and modern compositions in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, English and Serbian. The audience was able to enjoy in the Sephardic romances "En el mar", "En frente", "Avre tu", in the traditional tunes "HaDuda'im", "Erev shel shotshanim", "Schalom Aleichem", "Psalm 29", "Song of Solomon", but also in some modern ones, such as the processing of "Michelle" by the Beatles. The repertoire included also two local songs - "Magda, Magda," and "Small Girl".

The whole experience was complemented by their voices the soloist soprano Dina Sejah, soprano Jelena Jecmenica and baritone and first role performer of Belgrade Opera Aleksandar Stamatovic, and by tunes of their instruments the piano players Maja Apostolska Mihic and Nevena Radivojevic and accordionist Lazar Ekmedzic.
