Author's interpretation of the exhibition "Nadezda Petrovic: on both sides of the lens"



In the Small Gallery of the Central Military Club, within the additional program of the exhibition "Nadezda Petrovic: on both sides of the lens", the author of the setting Dr. Jasna Jovanov, Director of the Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski, has expertly explained the exhibition today, in front of many art lovers.

Speaking about the life of the most important Serbian painter, Dr. Jasna Jovanov said that the beginning of Nadezda Petrovic's photographic activity was related to the period of her studies in Munich. According to her, the photographs of the famous painter mirrored the times in which she lived, people and events and landscapes in which she moved. "Her photographs from World War I did not register the war and the events on the battlefield, but showed the brighter side of life at that time", the author of the exhibition said.

Exhibition "Nadezda Petrovic: on both sides of the lens", in which the painter was presented both as a photographer and as a model, which is less known aspect of her work for much of the public, drew great attention of art lovers because they had the opportunity to see for the first time her original photos, pictures of her family from the family's legacy, as well as the selection of artworks from the Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski.
