Museum nights
The 10th anniversary Museum Night will be held on Saturday 18th May at more than 60 locations in Belgrade and in a total of 150 cultural institutions in Serbia. At the press conference held on the occasion, the following institutions presented their program for the 18th May: the National Library, the Yugoslav Film Archive, Museum of Applied Arts, the Media Center "Defense", Museum of Yugoslav History, representatives of the new cemetery, and the Brazilian Embassy in Belgrade.
Media Center "Odbrana" will present itself with an exhibition, entitled "100 works from the collection of Duro Popovic." This is a representative selection from the rich collection of this famous Novi Sad collector with more than 1,000 exhibits of Serbian and Yugoslav art, offering a rare opportunity for the public to see many of the masterpieces of the XiX and XX c, many of which will be shown to the public for the first time.
On that occasion, the visitors to the gallery of the Central Military Club will be able to see the works of Konstantin Danilo, Duro Jaksic, Stevan Todorovic, Uros Predic, Beta Vukanovic, Sreten Stojanovic, Miodrag Protic and others. Selection of works for this occasion was made by art historian Nikola Kusovac.
On that night our visitors will be able to see the permanent exhibition in our salons, and the whole event will be enriched with the performance of the MoD art ensemble Stanislav Binicki.
Lt. Col. Markovic added that, also on the Museum Night, one of the collections of the house, "Poetics and the fate of the 20th century "will be exhibited at the Modern Gallery in Lazarevac which had bene sene by the audience of Nis, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Jagodina, and Vrsac.
Serbian Armed Forces will be presented on this year's Night of Museums with a program at the Military Museum and the Museum of Aviation
The 10th Night at the Museum will open the doors of cultural institutions in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sabac, Uzice, Krusevac, Zrenjanin, Svilajinac, Nis, Pozarevac, Sombor, Jagodina, Leskovac, Lazarevac and many other cities.
