100 years of the battle on Bregalnica

On the occasion of the centenary of the Battle of Bregalnica tonight in the main hall of the Central Military Club the ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki" and the vocal ensemble "Nocturne", conducted by Pavle Medakovic gave a concert tonight.

"The Centenary of the Battle of Bregalnica is the opportunity to remember our ancestors who lost their lives in the war years that took place in the Balkan wars," as the hosts of the ceremony pointed out at the beginning of the concert that it is our duty and responsibility to cherish the memory of the times of lore and the heroic age.

The ceremony began with the national anthem "Boze pravde (God of Justice)", and then many compositions from one of the hardest periods in Serbian history were performed: the " King Peter’s march," "King Milan’s march", "cannons round", " Officers’ reel'" "Oh, Serbia", "Serbian girl", "Vostani Serbie" and others. Among the well-known tunes, actor of the National Theatre Nebojsa Kundacina, reciting verses from the heartbreaking "' Soldier’s letters" by Vojislav Ilic, Jr., as the Balkan war in addition to bringing victory, has also claimed many lives.

The organizer of the Celebration was the Government's Committee for preserving the tradition of Serbian liberation wars.
