The book FROM GUCEVO TO LEGEND promoted
In the organization of the National Committee of the Association of descendants of warriors Srbije1912-1920 a book by retired General Milisav Sekulic "From Gucevo to a legend." Was presented in the Media Center "Odbrana" today It is a biography of Momcilo Gavric, the youngest volunteer soldier of the First World War, the man whose biography, as at the promotion could be heard - almost all drama of Serbia, Yugoslavia and the Serbian people in 20 century is entwined.The speakers, in addition to Milisav Sekulic, were journalist and reviewer Slobodan Kljakic and book editor, journalist Dusan Milovanovic and retired Colonel Ljubomir Markovic chairman of the National Committee of the warrior descendants 1912-1920.
Dusan Milovanovic reminded that the fate of Momcilo Gavric, who as a ten-year old saw his house burnt to the ground in the village of Trbusnica near Loznica where Austrian-Hungarian invaders killed nine of his family members in 1914, began his journey as a soldier, known only decades later. He pointed out that the life of a child soldier Gavric, a slider of Thessalonica a forgotten and disputed hero, who has been in obscurity for far too long to the public, is going to be turned into a documentary film.
Slobodan Kljakic, the reviewer recalled that the book "From Gucevo to the legend" is yet another book by Milisav Sekulic drawing the attention of the public by calling the novelist a tireless researcher whose "ascetic self-discipline" is seen in his writings that comes from a successful career of an officer. Sekulic, according to the reviewer, has with this book erected a monument to Momcilo Gavric and other warriors who went through similar ordeal of war and life.The author, Milisav Sekulic reminded of the tragic and glorious moments of an ordinary yet great man like his compatriot Momcilo Gavric. The writer of this biography did not fail to mention the kind of adversity is passed Solunac boy, who after World War I was forced to do military service, although he had was in arms carrying a gun and uniform and who after the Second World War was persecuted ideologically. Sekulic has revived some of the recorded moments from discussions with Momcilo Gavric and to the end of his life, he remained true to his strong convictions and character.
