Odbrana Media Centre is situated in the building of the Central Military Club, former Veterans House (Ratnicki dom). Since 1984, by the decree of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade, the building has been proclaimed a cultural preserve. After the Second World War, Veterans House became the YPA House (Dom JNA), and later on changed titles in accordance with the change of the name of the military. Today, it is the Central Military Club of Serbia, where various events can be organized for the needs of the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces of Serbia, Odbrana Media Center and other users.

Since its foundation, this object has had the character of a social home and cultural institution. Today, it is the main location of the Association of Military Pensioners of Serbia, Association of Reserve Military Senior Staff of Serbia, the Association of Descendants of Serbian Veterans 1912-1920, the Association of Family Members of Soldiers Fallen in Wars in 1990, and the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binicki”.

The journalistic informational activity of the institution includes publishing “Odbrana” magazine and managing web portals of the Ministry of Defence and Odbrana Media Center. Odbrana continues the tradition of “Warrior” (Ratnik), first official military magazine in Serbia, which was first published in January 24, 1879. This day is marked as the Day of Odbrana Media Center.

Moreover, Odbrana Media center has a long publishing tradition. Since 1945, when Military Publishing House was formed, until today, it has had several thousand published titles. It encompasses publishing of military technical, educational, military scientific and publicist literature and military magazines “Military Act”, “Military Technical Courier” and “New Courier”. “Military Act” and “Military Technical Courier” are scientific magazines of national importance, and “New Courier” is a technical magazine of an operational and tactical level.

Odbrana Media Center uses the capacities not used for performing basic activities for providing services to users outside the Ministry of Defence on commercial conditions.
