Photo documentation

At the photo documentation of Odbrana Media Center, rich archive materials have been preserved since 1945 to this day. Generations of military photojournalists have documented through camera lenses not only military’s activities, but all important events from the country’s history and thus left the future generations an invaluable cultural treasure that still has not been fully researched.

fotocentarWith the support of the Jefferson Institute, archive digitization began in 2008, in order to facilitate its usage. So far, archives conclusively with the year of 1957 have been digitized, and realization of this project was funded by the Kingdom of Norway.

Since 2010, this project has been realized at a much slower pace, due to the lack of funds.

Since shifting to digital photography in 2000, photo documentation of Odbrana Media Center has grown fast and has become easier to store, with powerful servers and other carriers of electronic data, with fast search options.
