Accompanying Programme of the exhibition "La Grande Iza"
In the Great Gallery of the Central Military Club today, as part of the exhibition "La Grande Iza by Vlah Bukovac" the accompanying programme was held. Visitors had the opportunity to complete their knowledge with two stories – about the painter and about the painting.
The first lecture, "Biagio Faggioni, Paul Andres and finally Bukovac" was held by Jasna Jovanov, Director of "Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski" from Novi Sad. She spoke about the life story of the painter and invited the audience to enjoy in the painting also after this display when the image is re-exposed in the "Memorial collection of Pavle Beljanski".
The painting itself, its origin, style, restoration and final purpose was spoken about by an art historian Maja Markovic at the lecture "La Grande Iza at the Paris Salon in 1882". "We can see how Pavle Beljanski extended the purpose of the painting in the modern world when he donated it to the Memorial Collection in 1965 and by this act the prize for the best graduation paper from the field of national art history was established, which, this year, will be awarded at the end of the exhibition in the Central Military Club", Markovic said.
Within the accompanying programme, the youngest ones participated in the children's workshop where they were able to express their artistic skills, but also to learn how to behave during the visit to a museum, on the basis of the model presented in the booklet "For the first time in the museum".
