The City of Pozarevac and Branicevon district are rich source of the Serbian military tradition. In Branicevo, and on the banks of the Danube and the Morava River Basins encompassing it, about 15 000 patriots gave their lives in ten wars, including the two world wars. As early as in 1825, Pozarevac began training of the first soldiers of Pozarevac, Smederevo and Resavska districts. Five years later the Guard was formed. In Pozarevac, military music band was also established, a military hospital was formed, and the Military Academy started with its work.

In the Memorial Room there is a permanent memorial display "Two centuries of military in Branicevo" which is a joint project of the Pozarevac Garrison Command and the Historical Archives of Pozarevac. It includes important dates, persons and social circumstances from 1804 to date. The documents testify about the entire military history of the Serbian state. The authors of the promoted book are also the authors of the display.
