Film "Golija Mountain – impressions of nature" in front of Belgrade audience

Documentary film about the mountain range Golija by Ranka Velimirovic has been premiered tonight in the Central Military Club. The film was shot in co-production of Military Film centre "Zastava film" and the production company "Libra”.

Director of Military Film Centre “Zastava Film” Lieutenant Colonel Mate Vujnovic said that this cooperation was realised on the initiative of “Libra” two years ago. The Project on Golija was successfully completed and shown twice already, in Ivanjica and Raska.

- Promotion in Belgrade is one of our co-production pledges. With this project, the MFC "Zastava Film" continues the tradition because we have shot many documentary films, not only by our own forces but also in co-production. This year we have two such projects that are underway, and we expect that both projects will be premiered next year, as planned, said Lieutenant Colonel Vujnovic.

The author of the film on the "Roof of Serbia", Ranka Velimirovic, pointed out that the idea of making a film about Goliji has originated exactly from the love of the mountains, especially the unknown ones.

- “Libra" made many movies about the mountains of Montenegro, and now in our country. There is a film made about Jadovnik Mountain which is quite unknown, and beautiful, then Stara Planina Mountain, Rudnik, and now about Golija. Our spiritual heritage made the strongest impression on me, such as monasteries of Sopocani, Studenica , and Peter's Church, the author pointed out, adding that the excellent cooperation with “Zastava Film” lasts for nearly two decades.

Secretary General of the Mountaineering Association of Serbia Branislav Bozovic perceives the film as a document of beauty, caution and hope, and points out that the film story and the eye of camera witnessed the beauty of the mountains and the conditions of life on it in this and on this time horizon.

- This movie requires dedication and thought. Above us there is Golija Mountain, natural and symbolic "Roof of Serbia", a source of natural values and created heritage, cleanliness and health. Film about Golija aims to spur the thought about the importance of life on this mountain with the message that everything can be better, more beautiful and dignified, Bozovic said, noting that the aim of this documentary, environmentally and culturally oriented movie is to remind us that Golija provides us with one more chance.

Ethno music band Bukovica buddies participated at the promotion of the film.

Golija Mountain is the protected nature park and biosphere reserve of international importance, with particular values of the biological and geological diversity, facilities and ethnographic heritage. It is a vast natural park, empire of mountain maple tree in the most beautiful and best preserved forests of Serbia, a garden with more than 1 100 plant species and 100 bird species. The film was shot during all four seasons, and lasts 78 minutes.
