Publications from the series "Medicine" presented at the Book Fair
Today, at the booth of the Odbrana Media Center, visitors of the 58th International Book Fair had the opportunity to get to know publications from the series "Medicine".. Readers and professionals were presented three issues: " Cecil – textbook of Internal Medicine 2" by group of authors, then "Modern treatment of psoriasis" by Rados Zecevic, Lydia Kandolf Sekulovic, Zeljko Mijuskovic and Danilo Vojvodic and "Bioterrorism", by Prof. Elizabeta Ristanovic.Editor-in-Chief of the Publishing Activities of the Odbrana Media Centre, Dragana Markovic, presenting "Cecil" said that behind the group signature there are names of eminent doctors and professors of the Faculty of Medicine and the Military Medical Academy, whom Branko Radojicic engaged in the translation of this, according to many, most popular textbook of Internal Medicine in our country. "Cecil" was made in co-publishing with the publishing house "Slavjanskaja" by Momcilo Radojcic.
"Bioterrorism" is the first electronic edition of a book that is presented to the public by publishing production of Odbrana. It is signed by Professor Elizabeta Ristanovic who has been dealing with Biomedicine at the Military Medical Academy, more than two decades. Besides the author, speakers about the book were its reviewers – Professor Dragan Simeunovic and retired General Prof. Branko Krga.This multimedia electronic monograph contains topics that are addressed in theory and practice, teamwork, in a critical and interactive manner, within the teaching process on the subject of Bioterrorism at the Military Academy of the University of Defence. The importance of the entire project is best illustrated by the fact that, in cooperation with the Jefferson Institute, the preparation of this textbook for uploading it on the platform for distance learning was completed, and experts from the Kingdom of Norway showed interest in this project, so that it is expected that the book will be translated to some other world languages.
The lack of literature on psoriasis in our language was compensated by the publishing production of Odbrana MC with publication of the book "Modern treatment of psoriasis". It integrates the latest positions on the treatment of psoriasis from the existing international guidelines and recommendations for treatment.The book was presented by authors Lydia Kandolf Sekulovic and Zeljko Mijuskovic who said that it was the fruit of their long-standing cooperation. Studying psoriasis and different treatment options, the authors reported a number of findings that offer hope of cure for people who suffer from this widespread skin disease.
Rector of the University of Defence Lieutenant General Prof. Miodrag Jevtic pointed out the importance of the series "Medicine". He emphasized that publishing production of the defence system must include issues such as those presented today at the fair because it is important not only for the Armed Forces but also for the general population.
