Concert of the Czech- Serbian friendship
In the Ceremonial Hall of the Central Military Club, tonight, concert of the Czech- Serbian friendship was performed by the Prague Mixed Choir.
Prague Mixed Choir is one of the best amateur choirs in the Czech Republic, and this is his first meeting with the Serbian public.
“We have already held two concerts; the first one was on 17 October in Prague, under the auspices of Her Excellency Maja Mitrovic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Czech Republic, and another was held yesterday in Novi Sad Synagogue. Today's concert, the third one on a row, is dedicated to the city of Belgrade and its citizens", Jiri Kiriy, Deputy Ambassador of the Czech Republic, said in his welcome speech and then thanked everyone who participated in the organization of the concert and assisted in its implementation.
The Choir presented itself to the audience tonight with a selection of the best Czech choral composers. The repertoire included compositions of the most famous Czech composers, tunes such as "The Czech song" by Bedrich Smetana, "Stabat Mater" by Antonin Dvorak, " Hukvaldy songs" by Leos Janacek, then Czech folk songs, but also some Serbian ones, "Hajde Jano" and " Ruse kose". The choir was conducted by Jiri Petrdlik .
