- A lot of women who are their sacrifice, courage and bravery are reported in the Balkan Wars and the First World War , thus indebting Serbia . As is well known , Milunka won 12 medals , was wounded nine times , was always among the first . In the book, we have provided the names of 130 women who were volunteers . Some of them , like Milunka , were decorated several times very high military decorations . We can promise that we will not forget and we will make that their actions memorable, said Dr. Golubovic.
In the three chapters of the book , published in early November , the authors gave a thorough description and a thorough view of the life of Milunka Savic , from the first day of its warfare , to the triumphant breakthrough of the Thessalonika front. After the heroic deeds at the front Milunka did not falter in peace. Alone and without schooling, living very modestly , as a cleaning lady at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and then with an even more modest pension , she sent to school thirty children, to whom she was like a mother. As a great patriot and humanist , she did not hesitate to help those who would seek assistance from her , and that is at the same time , he never sought for himself .
Milunka Savic remains a shining example of heroine which Serbia gave everything, and that in turn is not looking for anything . Promotion of the book about the greatest Serbian heroine, which, with was made even more beautiful by Choir " Ima dana" and minstrel Savo Kontić Association of volunteers held a sort of lesson about patriotism and volunteerism in Serbia.
