Promotion of the book "MEAE MEMORIAE"-my memroies from the war 1912 and 1913



The second edition of artillery Major Sava Jeremic " MEAE MEMORIAE - my memories of the war in 1912-1913" was presented to the audience this evening in the Atrium of the Serbian Army .

The book , whose first edition was printed in Knjaževac in 1914, said Lieutenant Colonel Slobodan Djukic from the Military Academy , prof. Dr. Dobrivoje Stanojevic from the Faculty of Political Sciences , Milan Djokic , president of Knjaževac municipality, Milos Jeremic , great-grandson of the author and the editor of the second edition .

Speaking about the book, Jeremic said that this edition is a monument in to the size of a small country at the beginning of the 20th century " and made a parallel between the Duke Živojin Misic and his ancestor.

- There is a small but very interesting relationship . Of course , they were both excellent officers , grew up and educated in a good and hard-working families , then Sava Jeremic, took part in the battle led by Misic . But what connects them is the name of the book that are both left behind - M memories. Much has been written and published data , and this is an opportunity to learn more about Sava Jeremic and his family , said the great-grandson of the author , adding that his family in 2014 would be marking several anniversaries - 135 years since the birth of the Sava Jeremic , 100 years since the publication of the first edition and the 50th anniversary of his death .

President of Knjaževac municipality stressed the importance of this work that provides information about how our ancestors fought , who their strengths were and what we could not leave our- It is important to connect the history and future . From how our ancestors behaved and how they were in solidarity that they were patrons of art , how they loved their people and country , cities and families , we should draw lessons to adopt these virtues and later introduce our descendants . The greatest significance of the book is what awakens the memory of the honorable , honorable , patriotic and times of honesty , said Milan Djokic.

Author Sava Jeremic finished the 32nd class of the Military Academy in Belgrade , which is considered one of the more specific ones. About it, and the literary and scientific value of the book Lt. Col. Djukic spoke .

- This class is one of the largest since the establishment of the Military Academy until the beginning of World War I , and schooling lasted only two years due to the conflict in the Balkans . Djukic said that the preciousness of recorded data on officers and battles described in the book .

Professor Stanojevic explained why the book can be read as an exciting war novel , but at the same time as an intimate novel that has many psychological layers .

- The writing style is diverse-from military style to command and lyrical moments and universal truths . The book abounds with sincere observations , thoughts and feelings , then proverbs and folk literature , as well as a short comic pieces. Sava Jeremic was very well-read man who cared about his present and the future tense , the professor said Stanojevic .

This promoted book is a combination of the war diary of the author, eyewitness testimony and subsequent questioning of the writer. Reporter's understanding of the Balkan wars from Sava Jeremic’s perspective is backed by the expert topics, elevates this book from the circle of the testimony of an individual and becomes a general indication of the virtues of an army and the strength of a nation .

Author and Sava Jeremic was born on 11 January in 1879 in Knjaževac , one of the oldest Knjaževac families . After completing his studies at the Military Academy , he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant of artillery . After the tumultuous life of a warrior , as a commander he retired in 1923. He was awarded the Gold Medal of Valor , the Silver Medal for diligent service , war memorials and in Bulgaria, Order of Merit IV line. He has Albanian medal and that of his majesty Peter Karadjordjevic . He died in his hometown in 1964.
