“Hidden Treasure of the House of Jevrem Grujic" seen by 20,000 visitors
The exhibition entitled "Hidden Treasure of the House of Jevrem Grujic" in the Gallery of the Central Military Club, which discovered a rich treasure trove of art objects from 18, 19, and 20 century for the first time, is closing on 15 March 2014, after lasting one month with a record of 20,000 visitors.
Saturday is the last day when visitors can see more than 100 works of art collected during two centuries of tradition of a diplomatic family, which have not been exhibited in public before.
Among them, there are the works of our most important Serbian painters: Paja Jovanovic, Uros Predic , Steva Todorovic, Uros Knezevic, Arsenije Petrovic, Zora Petrovic, Ivan Tabakovic, Djordje Krstic ... , sculptures, antique furniture, weapons from the First and the Second Serbian Uprisings, and among them the rifle of Hajduk Veljko, art objects, as well as rich archival material.
The exhibition was organized as a joint project of the House of Jevrem Grujic, Central Institute for Conservation in Belgrade, Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments and Odbrana Media Centre and with the support of the company UNIQA Insurance, which was the main sponsor of the exhibition, TELEKOM SERBIA, HEMOFARM FOUNDATION and RAIFFEISEN BANK.
