Screening of the film on Momcilo Gavric

In the Atrium of the Central Military Club today, screening of the film on Momcilo Gavric was held in the framework of the formal ceremony dedicated to him, the youngest sergeant in the world during the First World War.

The film screening was presented in collaboration with the Association of War Volunteers 1912-1918, their descendants and admirers from Belgrade.

The audience was addressed by Aleksa Zarev from the Association, Milos Bata Milatovic, the author of the film recorded in 1987, and Milisav Sekulic, author of the book entitled "From Gucevo to the legend", which was promoted last year in the Central Military Club.

The author of the film pointed out that he will never forget making company with Momcilo, nor the stories from his life, and urged the public for Momcilo Gavric not to remain just a "forgotten hero".

Milisav Sekulic, a native from Gavric's village, said that the youngest sergeant stopped being a child at the moment when he joined the Army during the war, although his comrades perceived him so until the end of his life.

The Choir of the Temple of Saint Basil of Ostrog at Banjica has also participated in the programme.
