Presentation of book “Rocket engines with solid propellants”

In the Central Military Club today, promotion of the book entitled "Rocket engines with solid propellants" has been held. The aim of the book is to present a half-century of experience in the development of rocket engines for the needs of the weapon systems. The book is a collaborative effort of Odbrana Media Centre and the Military Technical Institute, Belgrade.

The book was presented by Dr Zoran Anastasijevic, research associate, Deputy Director of the Military Technical Institute, Prof. Slobodan Jaramaz and Dr Milan Milosevic, reviewers, and Dr Nikola Grigorijevic and Dr Velibor Jovanovic, co-authors.

On this occasion, Anastasijevic said that the publishing activities of the Military Technical Institute have a long tradition of more than six decades.

- The publication of this monograph coincides with the 65th anniversary of the existence and work of the Military Technical Institute. This monograph aims to make its mark of the decades of experience in the research and development of rocket engines both for the needs of the defence system and for civil use, and to save from oblivion everything that has been done previously and which was not disclosed yet, the research associate said.

Professor Jaramaz emphasized that the fact that a large number of theoretical and experimental research for the purpose of developmental tasks that have been successfully implemented adds special value to the monograph. According to Dr Milosevic, eleven chapters in the book are the real treasure of selected chapters about rocket engines, in which the authors competently and professionally shared their experience in the field of missile technology.

Velibor Jovanovic spoke about the history of the creation of the book which, above all, should be the basis for young people who are at the beginning of the research in that area.

- The monograph is published with the desire to be the impetus for other generations to take part in the upcoming, amended edition, and for professional institutions to find a systematic way make a cross-section of what had previously been done after ten years, in each area, Jovanovic said.

Nikola Gligorijevic talked about the book with a video presentation and presented to the audience chapters, areas, topics and authors of the texts in the monograph.

The main intention of the group of authors was to publish a professional book that would contain first of all the theoretical part practiced and tested in the research and development work, and then a section that would present methods of design and concretely developed solutions for rocket engines, realized through the development work on missiles for combat systems, adopted in the arms of the Serbian Armed Forces and exported in a number of other countries.
