Charity Concert of the Society of Gusle Players "Bajo Pivljanin"

The Society of Gusle Players “Bajo Pivljanin” from Zemun Polje held a charity concert at the Central Military Club in Belgrade for helping the people affected by the recent disastrous floods. At the “Evening of Gusle Players and Epic Poetry”, the most well-known folk gusle players performed, such as: Drasko Malidzan, Slavko Jeknic, Djordje Tanovic, Marko Scepanovic, Zoran Plemic, Aleksandar Tausan, Batric Jokanovic, Cedo Cavic, and poet Bozidar Glogovac.

- This night is humanitarian in nature, but it also has a nice humane message for all of us – we will not grow weary of doing good deeds, and it is good to do what we haven’t promised, too – the host of the program Slavko Aleksic said.

The gusle players took the audience through the period of the First World War and the Balkan Wars in marking the centenary of these historical events.
