Announcing the concert by Manjifiko and the Art Ensemble "Stanislav Binicki"
During the event, attended by actors and protagonists of the famous “Montevideo” series, and many persons from cultural and public life, the Belgrade concert was discussed by Manjifiko, conductor of “Binicki” Major Igor Mitrovic and actor and director Dragan Bjelogrlic.
Talking about his cooperation with the Slovenian author, “Binicki”’s conductor Major Igor Mitrovic emphasized that it had all begun in December, 2010, when Manjifiko turned to him, suggesting that they create the soundtrack for the film “Montevideo, bog te video” (Montevideo, God Bless You!).
The film’s director Dragan Bjelogrlic had met Manjifiko earlier, in Ljubljana, when he “met not only a good man, but his music, as well”.
- I was particularly fascinated by the song “The Battle of Kosovo”, which I listed frequently, and it was basically the deciding factor for my desire to cooperate with Manjifiko – Bjelogrlic said, adding that he is particularly pleased with the cooperation between Manjifiko and the Serbian military orchestra and their European performances, and that he is looking forward to the concert in Sava center.
When asked about what the audience can expect on October 18, Robert Pesut confirmed that it would be a grand finale of the story that started in Belgrade.
After the press conference, the audience which filled the entire hall of the Central Military Club had the opportunity to watch the mini-concert with the most popular compositions performed by Manjifiko and his band with the Art Ensemble.
The film “Montevideo, vidimo se” (See you in Montevideo) will be the Serbia's nominee for the American Academy Awards.
