Follow-up program to the exhibition “Seven Artists: Parallels between Fine Arts and Tapestry”
In the course of the exhibition “Seven artists: Parallels between fine arts and tapestry” at the galleries of the Central Military Club, today, at 18.00, volunteer Katarina Kragovic held an expert guidance through the exhibition for visitors.
Katarina opted for putting the emphasis tonight at the Small Gallery and the exhibited tapestry of Bosko Petrovic, because he was the one who gathered the rest of the artists.
“His interest for tapestry appeared in the mid-fifties of the last century. Then, it was a completely new visual medium in our region. In 1961, with Etelka Tobolka, he founded a craft workshop for manufacturing art tapestry in Petrovaradin. “Atelje 61” exists to this day. That is also one of the institutions that participated in the organization of the exhibition”, the volunteer explained. Afterwards, she led the visitors through the Grand Gallery, while telling them about the life and work of Stevan Maksimovic, Mladen Srbinovic, Stojan Celic, Dragutin Cigarcic, Jovan Soldatovic and Edo Murtic.
Although the exhibition had been scheduled to close today, those who have not had the chance to see the exhibition and learn something more about these extinguished artists will be able to do so until October 31, as the closing date has been rescheduled due to large interest.
