Annual Session of the Club of Generals and Admirals



The regular annual session of the Club of Generals and Admirals of Serbia was held at the Central Military Club, where reports of the Club’s work, its organs and sections in the previous period were analyzed, the Work Program for the next year was adopted and traditional annual acknowledgements of the Club were awarded. The session was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, General Staff of Serbia, veteran and patriotic organizations, Association of reserve military higher staff, organizations of disabled civilian and military persons and others.

President of the Assembly of the Club of Generals and Admirals retired General Vidoje Pantelic, PhD said in his opening speech that the previously established cooperation between the Club of Generals and Admirals of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Serbia has been even richer and better in the previous year. It was mostly realized through cooperation with the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans at the Ministry of Defence, and through the Public Relations Department and Media Center Odbrana.

- In various ways, usually logistically, the Ministry of Defence has helped in many activities of the Association, most noted of which were the Roundtable “Yugoslav Military in defence against NATO aggression” and the International Scientific Conference about the Great War, it’s causes, consequences and lessons. On this occasion, in the course of marking the centenary of the Beginning of the Great War, the highest acknowledgement of the Association has been established – Memorial Medal of Serbian Warriors, which was awarded among the first ones to President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic.

At the end of the Session, traditional annual acknowledgements of the Club were awarded. The Memorial Medal of Serbian Warriors was given to Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, Deputy Head of the General Staff Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Deputy Army Commander Major General Milosav Simovic, Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence General Sinisa Radovic, Head of the MoD Public Relations Department Colonel Petar Boskovic and retired Colonel Zoran Mrdjenovic, conductor. Letters of thanks were also handed for “extraordinary cooperation and affirmation of the Club in the country and worldwide”.

The Club of Generals and Admirals of Serbia was founded nine years ago, and has so far established cooperation with several dozen similar state and international organizations and associations.
