"The Yugoslav Air Force 1942-1992" presented on the third day of the Book Fair
On the third day of the fair, at the booth of the publishing house Odbrana Media Centre, Dr Bojan Dimitrijevic presented his book "The Yugoslav Air Force 1942-1992" to visitors, through conversation with Dragan Markovic, the Editor-in-Chief of the publishing activities of the Media Centre.
Aviation history is the history of a country. The book was published in cooperation with the "Institute for Contemporary History" and represents a comprehensive overview of all the important dates, events, aircraft types and, above all, people who continually define the history of the Yugoslav Air Force.
"I gave a synthesis of these events, a critical judgment. This is the judgment of a historian, not a man who deals with aviation. The book touches on various historical epochs. To me personally, describing of the fifties – when Tito's Yugoslavia received the US military assistance was my favourite. By acquisition of new technique and education at higher standards, the armed Forces began to breathe with full lungs and fly far more dynamically", Dimitrijevic reveals the greatest moments from the pages of his book.
This is the third edition of the book, which is great, but the expected success, since there is a constant fascination of readers with airplanes and interest in aviation themes.
"Inversely proportional to the crisis in which the Air Force is today, there is a devotion of the public who loves aviation and attention caused not only by the technical aspects of aviation, but also the written word on it. Therefore, thanks to loyal readers, aviation will certainly have bright future", Dr Bojan Dimitrijevic concludes.
