Promotion of a publishing project of national and cultural importance: “The Battle of Cer" and book 1 and 2 of “The Battle of Kolubara”
On the occasion of marking the centenary of glorious Serbian victories on Cer and Kolubara, at the Gala Hall of the Central Military Club of Serbia, on November 13, 2014 at 19.00, a promotion will be held for books “The Battle of Cer (The Battle of Jadar in August 1914)” and book 1 and 2 of “The Battle of Kolubara” by academic General Zivko G Pavlovic. These are reprints of 1924-1930 issues, published, under the auspices of the Government of Serbia, by Glas Crkve from Sabac and the Library “Dimitrije Tucovic” from Lazarevac.
The works written based on authentic sources and war notes of the author (then the Head of the Operative Sector of the Chief Command, and later the Assistant Head of the Chief Command Staff – Voivode Radomir Putnik) explain why the epopees of Cer and Kolubara are studied in all military academis of the world and why legendary Serbian commanders Voivodes Stepa and Zivojin Misic and their famed warriors became legends and entered the history of greatest war victories of the world.
The publishing undertake of greatest national and cultural importance will be commented on by: academic Ljubomir Dimic, docent Aleksandar Zivotic, PhD, deacon Ljubomir Rankovic, PhD and Ratko Vukelic, and the best cadets of the second, third and fourth years of the Military Academy will be awarded sets of this extraordinary three-tome issue.
