The audience had the opportunity to enjoy compositions by renowned composer, musicologist and musical theorist Vladimir Pericic and clarinet player, teacher and composer Radivoje Lazic. Orchestral arrangements “From an intimate diary”, “Two moods”, “Two character pieces”, “Song and dance”, “Triptych to my father” are just a part of tonight’s repertoire which is a result of many years of collaboration of the two musicians.
The opening speech was given by composer, musical teacher and musical theorist Mirjana Zivkovic, Vlastimir Pericic’s student.
- He is a great name of our musical culture. I was fortunate enough to work with him for many years. I met him in classes in musical high school. Since then, for the rest of his life, we constantly worked together. Many generations learned from him – Zivkovic said, stressing that performances of his compositions have always been awarded highest grades by critics.
Joint creative opus of Vlastimir Pericic and Radivoje Lazic enriched the rich musical heritage of our country, with many compositions ranging from beginner’s to highly-professional level, and today, their works are performed around the world. The Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence Stanislav Binicki managed tonight, if even for a short while, to bring that music to life at the Central Military Club of Serbia as well.
