Exhibition “In glory and honor of our country” opened
At the Small Gallery of the Central Military Club, today, the exhibition of the art club of the Association of descendants of Serbian warriors 1912-1920 was opened. The exhibition titled “In glory and honor of our country” was organized by the Association in the course of marking the centenary of liberation of Belgrade in the Great War.
On behalf of the jury, the visitors were addressed by art historian and painter Branka Gostovic who stressed that marking the centenary of the Great War had brought many pictures and paintings back from oblivion, while also shedding light on some previously unrecognized authors. She said that the exhibition is not only evocative of esteemed Serbian military leaders, but that it also revives images and events that depict regular soldiers as main characters, people who carried out the Great War, and many more before and after it, on their backs.
