Promotion of collection of papers "One hundred years of Serbian Air Force”
Today, at the Air Defence Command in Zemun a promotion was held for the collection of papers “One hundred years of Serbian Air Force”, which includes papers by over 40 authors that attended the symposium in 2012 in the course of marking the jubilee of 100 years of Serbian Air Force.
Greeting the guests, including Deputy Head of the General Staff of Serbia Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Air Defence Commander Major General Ranko Zivak reminded of the importance of the mentioned jubilee and conveyed his content that his generation was honored to have organized its marking.
- The idea was to create another scientific symposium in the course of that marking, where most competent persons would talk about the development of Serbian Air Force in the 100 years of its existence and to leave something that would last – General Zivak stressed, adding that all undocumented experiences are bound to be forgotten.
In the further course of the promotion, the Collection was presented by Deputy Air Defence Commander Major General Miodrag Gordic, PhD, who had attended the symposium, retired Lieutenant General Zlatko Randulic, who spoke about the development of the Air Force after the Second World War, retired Lieutenant General Spasoje Smiljanic, whose speech focused on the history of Air Force in this area, Milan Terzic, PhD, from the Strategic Research Institute, who spoke about states in which the Air Force had developed, and Snezana Djokic, MSc, who spoke on behalf of the publisher of the Collection, Obrana Media Center.
At “Ikar” gallery of the Air Defence Command, in the course of today’s promotion of the Collection, an exhibition was held of photographs and documents from the archive of the Museum of Yugoslav Air Force, of the collection of Milutin Milankovic and photographs by Pilot Major Dragoljub Stojanovic.
