Annual awards of Odbrana Media Center
On the occasion of the Day of the Institution, Jaunary 24, Media Center Odbrana has traditionally awarded the Journalism Reward Ivan Markovic and chosen the best sports team of the Armed Forces of Serbia in 2014.
After the review and evaluation of submitted works, the jury for awarding the Journalism Award Ivan Markovic decided by the majority of votes that the award for reporting on activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia in 2014 be awarded to Marko Petkovic, journalist of Tanjug Press Agency, for his reportage “In army boots for up to 12 hours”.
The report states that Marko Petrovic’s work is characterized by remarkable perception of all key elements of preparation of the Military Parade. It was written in journalist reporting style, without pathetic tone and surplus words, as any top quality agency report. The reportage was excellently illustrated with photo and video material of Tanjug agency, and, as the jury was informed, this is the text that was most frequently quoted when it comes to informing about the preparations for the event. The text, photographs and the video were also used by most read SErbian portals. The jury unanimously decided that the Special acknowledgement was to be awarded to Djurdjica Dragas Vukovljak and the journalist team of the First Program of Radio Belgrade that had realized the live streaming of the Military Parade March of the Victorious.
The hour-and-a-half reportage on the Military Parade on Radio Belgrade was characterized by flaweless and trained team work between editors and journalists at the studio and in field, and in the jury’s opinion, work of Djurdjica Dragas Vukovljak particularly stood out. The team managed to make an equally interesting reportage from the scene of the event, abiding by the slogan “Sound is worth a thousand images” and the commentaries of the experts in the studio.
