Follow-up program of the exhibition “Confessions of Yugoslav Moderna"

At the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club of Serbia, today, at 13.00, expert guidance was held for the exhibition “Confessions of Yugoslav Moderna” by art historian Olivera Vukotic, author of the exhibition.

The exhibition displays works of most prominent Yugoslav artists of 20th century, such as Ljubomir Ljuba Ivanovic, Sava Sumanovic, Stojan Celic, Predrag Pedja Milosavljevic, Gabrijel Stupica, Zlatko Prica and others. Their works on paper feature various techniques, which would explain the title of the exhibition.

- A drawing is a confession, because this is what a drawing is like: spontaneous, intimate, with no corrections – the author of the exhibition explained.

All the works are a part of the rich fundus of the Central Military Club, so she firstly mentioned the collecting and exhibiting activities of Odbrana Media Center. Later on, she spoke about Yugoslav art in general and finally about the individual exhibited works and their authors.

- The exhibition is important because it gives the most complete insight into the courses of art in this territory, and beyond. All the artists, aside from having been exceptional masters of their craft, were also erudite artists, intellectuals. They carry the greatness assigned to them with every right – Olivera concluded.

The next expert guidance has been scheduled for Saturday, January 31, at 13.00.
