Follow-up program of the exhibition “Confessions of Yugoslav Moderna"

This Saturday, for the second time, at the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club of Serbia, expert guidance was organized for exhibition “Confessions of Yugoslav Moderna”. Visitors were led through the setup by author of the exhibition Olivera Vukotic.

“Exhibition activities of the Gallery of the Central Military Club of Serbia began in 1945, upon the initiative of Branko Sotra, the first post-war Head of the institution, well-known artist and founder of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade”, Olivera Vukotic said while beginning the guidance.

For several years, the Central Military Club has exhibited works from its rich fundus. This is the fourth of such exhibitions. After paintings, graphics and sculptures, the audience now has the opportunity to also see works on paper: drawings, aquarelles, pastels, water colors and other techniques. The authors are some of the most prominent Yugoslav artists of 20th century, such as Ljubomir Ljuba Ivanovic, Sava Sumanovic, Stojan Celic, Predrag Pedja Milosavljevic, Gabrijel Stupica, Zlatko Prica and others. Dusan Mrkonjic, one of the authors whose paining is on the wall, also attended today’s guidance among other numerous visitors. He told the visitors a bit about his drawing “Three heads”, that was made during his military service at the Military Club in Novi Sad.

The exhibition will be open until February 6.
