The author Stanislav Stojanovic, PhD, reviewer Radomir Milasinovic , professor at the Faculty of Security Studies, and editor Snezana Djokic spoke about the political philosophy of Hobbes.
As there has not been too many works about Hobbes that have left a significant monographic mark in our country, this book is a valuable contribution to our philosophical and political literature.
"Today it is a great courage to draw a parallel between the modern era and the period when Hobbes was creating, because it assumes that you summarize the whole philosophical wisdom about the relationship between a man and society. For something like that you must be either very arrogant or very familiar with the issues. The author deals with this problem far more seriously and far more competently than all those who have written on this subject in our region", Dr Milasinovic said.
"Hobbes's philosophy has been permanently challenged, but never permanently archived. It is certainly a theory that is the starting point for modern political thought. Hobbes' idea of power as a constructive principle, made a significant impact on a number of theorists and politicians. The power and force are the instruments that create order and maintain its stability", Dr Stojanovic explained the influence of Hobbes's theory on the creation of the modern world and noted that the most important reason for which this thinker should be remembered is his pleading for peace as a prerequisite for a bearable and harmonious life.
