The art collection of contemporary art of Milena Pavlovic Barili Gallery has around fifty works, 35 of which are presented at the exhibition. At the ceremonial opening of the exhibition, visitors were addressed by three ladies: Lieutenant Colonel Biljana Pasic on behalf of the hosts; Violeta Tomic, art historian and curator of the “Milena Pavlovic Barili” Gallery and painter Tanja Pirovic Stefanovic.

- As always, we are trying to give the art enthusiasts, those that regularly attend events at the Central Military Club of Serbia the joy of seeing guest associates. Today, together with the foundation Milena’s Home – Gallery of Milena Pavlovic Barili from Pozarevac, we are opening the exhibition in honor of the renowned Serbian painter, one of the most prominent people of the artistic Europe between the two world wars. The exhibited works created between the fourteen held biennales are a part of this exhibition – Lieutenant Colonel Biljana Pasic stressed.

Violeta Tomic, author of the exhibition, spoke about the importance of Milena’s work, her influence on the artists inspired by her, and about the paintings that are on the walls of the Gallery of the Central Military Club.
- The artists whose works are displayed belong to the period of the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the present century. The paintings are filled with visions, fantasies, and explorations of spiritual space. Basically, they feature surrealism while verging on magical realism, and they all create a specific form of poetic fantasy – Violeta explained.

Tatjana Pirovic, one of the artists inspired by Milena’s work, also addressed the audience.
- It is my great honor to speak today about such a surrealistically beautiful exhibition. The concept of this exhibition is based on displaying works created at the pool of light emanating from the lustrous art by Milena Pavlovic Barili. The audience can see contemporary authors whose works are close to Milena’s for their starting point and their meaning – the painter, whose two works: “Symphony of sad voices” and “Lost paradise” are also exhibited, said.

All interested visitors will have the opportunity to see the exhibition until March 12, 2015, on workdays and Saturdays, 11.00 – 19.00.
