"Hawk Eye" on the Central Military Club
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, accompanied by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, high military staff and representatives of cultural and public life of the capital city, unveiled a memorial “Hawk Eye” on the bastion of defence of the state 1914-2014 on the entrance to the Central Military Club, former House of Warriors.
After the ceremony of unveiling of the memorial created by Mirko Mrkic Ostroski , at the ceremonial hall of the Central Military Club of Serbia, a ceremonial promotion was held for the anniversary issue “On the bastion of defence of the state” and for the poem “The all-seeing eye” by Milovan Vitezovic dedicated to Dragutin Matic, the scout whose photograph became a symbol of heroism of the Serbian military in the Great War.
The anniversary issue of “On the bastion of defence of the state”, presented by Interpres Publishing House, specially enriched with the poem by Milovan Vitezovic for this occasion was presented by the author and the publisher, as well as by art historian Nikola Kusovac, academic Miro Vuksanovic and composer Rade Radivojevic. Radivojevic prepared a CD with musical numbers from the period of the Great War. The guests were also greeted by Director of Media Center Odbrana Colonel Stevica S. Karapandzin.
Publisher Mirko Mrkic presented Colonel Karapandzin with the first copy of the anniversary issue of “On the bastion of defence of the state”, in gratitude and respect for the institution that hosted the ceremony. He expressed his hope that the Central Military Club would once again be named the House of Warriors, since the building was built in honor and memory of heroes of the Great War.
Excerpts from the book and the poem by Milovan Vitezovic were performed by drama artists Biljana Djurovic and Gojko Santic.
