Promotion of the novel "A cleared sky" held
Today, at the Atrium of the Central Military Club of Serbia, a novel by Jovan Radovanovic “Cleared sky” was presented. The novel is a romanticized biography of Dana Milosavljevic. Dana was a combatant of the First and Second Proletarian Brigade of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, the youngest female second lieutenant, decorated with the Medal of National hero. In creating this work, Jovan Radovanovic did not only write an exciting biography of this national heroine, but also a chronicle that unveils the history of an entire nation.
“We have gathered here to present the romanticized biography of Dana Petrovic written by Jovan Radovanovic, combatant of the Second Proletarian Brigade, writer of forty three books, who brings us joy every year with a new book”, Jelisaveta Milovanovic, host of the program announced. The book was presented by Prof. Dr. Miodrag Ignjatovic, Borko Gvozdenovic, Dr. Miroljub Basic, and the author.
“This is not a character novel. Our heroine is the protagonist, but this is a collective novel. Dana is in the focus of the story in order to link dozens and dozens of familiar and unfamiliar heroes that made the weaving of our history”, Prof. Ignjatovic said.
The book and its author were presented by Dr. Miroljub Vasic.
“Jovan Radovanovic needs no particular introduction. He is a born Serb, a citizen of the world for his preference, a teacher for his education, a colonel in rank, a journalist, a publicist, researcher, and a writer. Now, he has begun writing novels. This novel, for its facts and the logical and stylistic aspect, represents a valuable testimony”, Vasic said.
“What is there to be said about a novel about Dana Milosavljevic, national heroine, who spent the war first as a nurse, and then carrying a rifle in her hand until the liberation of Yugoslavia? This is a great novel about a great figure, whom I wish to see for many times to come for the same reasons as tonight”, Borko Gvozdenovic wished Dana, the last living heroine of the National Liberation War, who was in the audience.
“You heard who Dana is from the stories of my esteemed colleagues”, the author of the novel lastly addressed the guests. So as not to repeat the appraisals of the colleagues that had spoken before him, Jovan Radovanovic told some of the interesting facts from Dana’s life, from her days of youth on the front and from the present – about the great cooperation they had had during the creation of the novel.
If favorable words are a measure of quality, then the value of this novel was confirmed by tonight’s speakers.
