Belgrade Slavic Music Festival opened at the Central Military Club



Отворен Фестивал Словенске музике у Дому Војске СрбијеSlavic Music festival in Belgrade, the pre-competition of the same-titled manifestation that has been held for the last 10 years in Russia with participation of representatives of 13 Slavic countries, was opened tonight at the Gala Hall of the Central Military Club of Serbia with a concert of the MoD Art Ensemble Stanislav Binicki.

The festival was organized under the auspices of Dragica Nikolic, wife of the Serbian President, and will last until April 22.
After the sounding of the anthems of Serbia and Russia, the program was opened on behalf of Dragica Nikolic by Adviser to the President Jasmina Mitrovic Maric, and the guests were also addressed by President of the Association of Music and Ballet Pedagogues Vojislav Avramovic.

Отворен Фестивал Словенске музике у Дому Војске СрбијеWith the Ensemble headed by conductor Pavle Medakovic, performances were also given by Russian soprano Polina Komarova, Belarus pianist Konstantin Krasnitski, Ukrainian violinist Orest Surgot, and national musicians Merima Njegomir, Boki Milosevic and Aleksa Vasic.

The repertoire included compositions “Bojarka”, “kralhevo kolo”, “Pukni zoro”, “There, far away”, “Tamna je noc”, “Kaljinka”, “Srpski jug”, “Balksanske impresije”, and others.

Owing to the great results and membership of the jury of our professors in Moscow and engagement of the Association of Music and Ballet Pedagogues of Serbia, our state has received the right, as the only Slavic country besides Russia, to organize for the fist time the pre-competition for the finishing Festival of Slavic Music which will be held in Moscow in May, 2015.

The competition includes disciplines of piano, violin, viola, violoncello, guitar, accordion, solo singing, chamber music, trumpet, flute, clarinet, tambourine, and composition, and is open to all levels of music education, students of elementary and music high schools and faculties from all Slavic countries.
