Exhibition of paintings by Nada Novakovic opened at the Central Military Club
Commenting on the exhibition, Deputy Director of Odbrana Media Center Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Krupez stressed that this was a chance to symbolically pay an homage to the artist, who had been born a century ago, and who contributed to the Yugoslav artistic scene in the 20th century with her work.He also stressed the curiosity that some of Nada Novakovic’s works in 1971 were presented at the Gallery of the Central Military Club as a part of the exhibition “People’s liberation battle in works of Yugoslav painters”.
Looking back on Nada’s artistic expression, skill and favourite techniques, art historian Marijana Zivanovic stressed that the exhibition was to discover a part of forgotten past, and to reaffirm the artist of humble personality, whose works depicted the circumstances in which they had been created – during the war, education in Paris, and later during life in Sarajevo and Belgrade, at the same time depicting the fate of the artist herself.
The exhibition will be open to all visitors until 11th July.
