Son of the famous Yugoslav diplomat Slobodan Lekic worked as a correspondent for the "Associated Press" for two and a half decades, and the last two and a half years he has been the editor of the military magazine of the US Army "Stars and Stripes", which is, mainly, dealing with the Middle East. In his interview for Odbrana, he spoke about the turn of events for which he became friends with the "right hand" of Saddam Hussein and Syria's ambassador to the United Nations and how he negotiated an interview with Assad. He also revealed how he had known that Iraq did not possess nuclear, chemical and biological weapons before western inspectors, which was the reason for the bombing of that country in 2003, and that for years he drank his favorite Arabic coffee with Saddam's first man and whiskey with Clinton's special envoy for the Balkans, who is already in the late nineties stated that the KLA was a terrorist organization.
