Through the exhibition "Nadezda Petrovic, 100 years since the right to eternal memory" with author Ljubica Miljkovic
More than a hundred visitors who visited today at 13.00 the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club, besides being able to see seventy three paintings by Nadezda Petrovic from the collection of the National Museum, also had the opportunity to listen to the story of the life and work of the great painter.
The author of the exhibition, art historian and museum consultant Ljubica Miljkovic spoke about Nadezda Petrovic, trying to choose from the rich biography the most important moments and include the paintings that illustrate them, and to demolish some misconceptions that exist about, as the author of the exhibition says, "not only the best artist, but also the unsurpassed artist of the 20th century." What she emphasized particularly was Nadezda’s timelessness:
- Just think, these paintings were made a hundred years ago! Her art is so fresh and so current, that we need Nadezda today to lift our spirits a little!
Next expert guidance is scheduled for Tuesday, 1 December at 17.30, and the same week, on Friday 4 December at 17.30, art historian Dr Igor Borozan will give a lecture on "The symbolism in the work of Nadezda Petrovic".
For the youngest artistic audience, on 5 December 2015, children's workshops will be organized in two terms: 12:00-14:00 and 14:00-16:00.
For those who have not seen the exhibition yet, and for those who would like to revisit it, the doors to the Grand Gallery, which are now also the doors to Nadezda’s work, will be open until 24 December, every day except on Sundays, from 11.00 to 19.00.
