Concert on 10 years of the Choral Society "Transfiguration"
In crowded Ceremonial Hall of the Central Military Club, tonight, the Choral Society "Transfiguration" marked ten years of existence.At the beginning of the evening, President of the society priest Branislav Miladinovic welcomed all guests, wished them welcome and invited to pray to the Lord to give them the blessing to make further progress, singing and prayer, then gave the word to conductor Bratislav Prokic, who has conducted the choir since its foundation.
- This is a small, but for us nevertheless a great jubilee. It was interesting to prepare for this concert, since there are usually many more of us at the liturgy, then at rehearsals. But this is a remarkable moment when we can step out and present compositions that marked ten years of our work, which have imprinted in our hearts and left memories which I remember fondly when we perform them - Bratislav Prokic said.
The repertoire so included primarily spiritual music of national authors with which the choir has won numerous awards at European festivals, and also secular works of the national and world cultural heritage, several schlager numbers and a gospel.
Choral Society "Transfiguration" was established in 2005 at the Temple of the Transfiguration of the Lord on Pasino Brdo in Belgrade. Within the Society, there are three choirs - mixed, chamber and children’s. The mixed choir has so far had more than 70 public appearances and has won numerous awards and medals. Children's choir consists of children of parishioners of the temple, and the chamber choir sings in the sacred liturgy every Saturday. All three choirs also performed at tonight's concert, under the baton of Bratislav Prokic and Ana Simonovic.
