Children's day at the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club
The exhibition dedicated to the work of Nadezda Petrovic in the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club is followed by a number of programs that enrich the impression of the exhibition. So today, visitors of all ages could enjoy several various activities.
The adults had the opportunity to learn from Marija Ristic, MA of art history and member of the club of associates the National Museum, about the life and work of one of our the most significant artists.
- With the intention of bringing the visitors closer to the idea of the author Ljubica Miljkovic that the exhibition should show the creative period of Nadezda Petrovic, but also the courses of our art in the period from 1898 to 1913, my lecture is based on the life and artistic journey of the painter - the path of glory, but also of honour – Marija explained.
Younger visitors were also able to learn something about Nadezda Petrovic in a fun way. The first workshop "With Nadezda to the village" was intended for children ages 3 to 7 years. They first listened to a story about the customs and way of life in the countryside, and then transfer it to paper, building on segments of Nadezda’s paintings. The second workshop, "From painting to painting," headed by Elijana Gavrilovic, Head of Education Department of the National Museum, was attended by slightly older kids, pupils from 10 to 14 years old, who, after passing through the setup with a curator, were tasked to find a mysterious painting based on what they learned.
The exhibition will be open by 24 December, on workdays and on Saturdays from 11 to 19 o'clock.
