Promotion of the book "Old Serbia"
On Monday, 3 December at 12:00 am, in the Conference Hall of the Central Military Club, monograph "Old Serbia (XIX-XX century): a drama of civilization" by Slavenko Terzic, scientific advisor of the Historical Institute of the SASA, will be presented
The publishers of the book are “Orthodox Word” from Novi Sad and the Historical Institute from Belgrade. Speakers about the book will be Prof. Dr Mihajlo Vojvodic, corresponding member of SASA, prof. Darko Tanaskovic, Prof. Dr Ljubodrag Dimic, Serbian historian, corresponding member of SASA and author.
The richly illustrated monograph on nearly 700 pages speaks about the concept of Old Serbia, political, social, cultural history of Raska, Kosovo and Skopje-Tetovo region in the 19th and 20th century. The book is based on new archival material from domestic and foreign archives and deals with the causes and consequences of major demographic and political changes in the area of Old Serbia and mass forced migrations of Serbs from this area, historical analysis of the causes and consequences of the Greater Albania project until recent times. The book also points to the international standards of Old Serbia, in the first instance to the policy of the great powers in this area, but also to the Yugoslav framework for this problem, especially the Communist Party policy towards the Kosovo issue and the Old Serbia issue.
As a supplement to monograph, a comprehensive study on the Albanian separatist terrorist movement in Kosovo and Metohia by former Republic Secretary of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Vojin Lukic from1962.
